Dresses and Visuals

The Carnival series is set in an alternative Victorian era, where people and good people live… some kind of peaceful society. As you can imagine, all these dresses, suits, horse carriages, the interiors of the houses, the poor, and everyone else should look appropriately. And they do. But the best VFX has been used for the flying pixies, horned pixies, for hundreds of faeries. See it for yourself.

Orlando Bloom as Inspector Philo

Our main character, Philo, is a police inspector trying to catch a serial killer targeting «critches» (racial slur for non-humans). Imagine Sherlock Holmes only more handsome and twice as tough. Orlando Bloom also nails Philo, stealing every scene.

Mrs. Y and Pocked

The connection between Agreus and Imogen is probably the most surprising twist of all storylines. Without giving anything away, here’s a sneak peek. Due to some unfortunate events, living with her brother, suddenly needing money. Just then, their new neighbor is on the street. Imagine Imogen’s surprise when a new wealthy neighbor turns out to be a Fae.

Multi-Layered Plot Twists

The writers have created a whole city in «Carnival Row.» For a moment you see this seemingly impossible nature, and by the end of the season, they become a catalyst for a fantastic twist because of what happens to them. It’s difficult to do without spoiling anything… let’s just say all supporting roles, you never know who’s siding with whom.
